Great pics. And I do love the dial/strap color combo on that TOC.

Awsome experience David, thanks for sharing.

Actually, you are immediately informed by Mr. Meylan's salesmen that you're entitled to a flight with the Bücker Bü 131 APM Jungmann that he owns should you buy a Breitling. It is quite a rare bird, altough several are flying in Switzerland. This particular example is of the 1939 vintage. Here is one of several videos available:

Mr. Meylan's passion for aviation goes several years back and he's also organizing the annual Seaplane Meeting of Vevey, in its fourth edition this year (Aug 31 - Sep 2).

The only reason I didn't buy from him is that he's offering "only" 5% off while I managed to get 25% elsewhere. But all his personnel and, particularly his sons, are very well formed and enthousiastic about what they're doing.

Also, there are always several sailplanes on Lake Léman (and not Lake Geneva  :) ), epsecially when the weather is so sublime as last weekend. However, the day of your flight there were even more as the Bol d'Or was taking place. It is an annual Geneva-Le Bouveret-Geneva race involving over 100 boats of various classes. The winner this year needed just over 10 hours to make the shift.

The Bol d'Or is a great event. Normally, a friend of mine takes part but he broke his hip skiing in December and couldn't do it this year. Our first year here (2010) there was no wind -- we watched the becalmed boats sit there seemingly doing nothing for hours.

No one mentioned the flight to me until after I had bought the watch, when I went to pick it up. I also didn't learn about the type of plane until significantly later. Perhaps the saleswoman I dealt with was new, though her product knowledge was good. Either way, it was a great experience. Thanks again to everyone for the comments.

You can say that again. Unlike what some members have experienced here.
