hey all,

just wanted to throw out an introduction, my names is Ross from Richmond or Blacksburg depending what time of the year it is. Just started my collection off with a Colt GMT, with a blue face. I realize this isn't as sought after a model as some others. but what i do wonder is, is this a worthwhile piece to start off with? btw, i bought this certified pre-owned from Tourneau but it didn't come with the original box or paperwork, is there a way to get copies or something of the sort from Breitling?

thanks

Ross

edit: for more questions

Welcome aboard. It's only possible to get a COSC if it was issued with the watch.

I thought it was possible to send it in during a service and get it re-certified.

Welcome aboard, and congrats on the purchase - it's a great piece.

As bnewbie says, if the watch was originally issued with a COSC certificate then you can get a replacement through Breitling - the model number will have a 3 as the thrird number / fourth character if it was originally COSC certified.

Yes, but you can't re-certified it if it wasn't certified in the first place.

is says chronometer certified on the bottom of the case, model is A32350. i've had a few compliments on it by some local friends that have nice collections.

Blacksburg most certainly means Tech. we finally got a bowl game...

So that is a COSC certified watch and you can get a replacement certificate. Process seems to vary depending on market, but at the very least it will need to be validated by an AD, potentially sent to Breitling and then Breitling applies to the COSC for the certificate and sends it to you - price should be about $30 - $50 if I remember correctly.
