Hi, I just came across this fourm today while researching my Lady Perpetuel. I've had my watch for a little over 3yrs and recently had it overhauled. Just picked it up yesterday and to my HORROR it came back from Breitling with a different dial color. Has anyone heard of Breitling doing this? My beautful stainless steel watch with grey face now has a tan/brown dial. YUK!!

Any help or advice is greatly appreaciated.

Did you buy the watch new? I have heard that Breitling will replace non standard items when they are found during a service.

:shock: Never heard of Breitling doing that before! The only time I'd ever imagine they'd do that is if something had been changed by a non-Breitling watch-maker........ in which case Breitling may attempt to put the watch back to it's original condition. But even then they should tell you in advance. Very odd. Image

It's odd that they would do something like that. I would certainly at least ask for an answer. I think a phone call is in order.

Welcome to the forums.

As others have said it's highly unusual. It's definitely something that Breitling do if the dial has previously been changed by a non Breitling watchmaker as Breitling will return the watch to the condition that they believe it should be in, which includes the dial colour.

Depending on the age there may be a code on the case between the lugs at 6 o'clock. The last two characters are a dial colour code so if you have them and can provide the code we should be able to tell you what colour it originally was.

Thanks for all the info guys. First of all my watch is a Ladies Sirius Perpetuel, purchased from an AD about three and a half years ago. Was under the impression the watch was all "original" with box and papers. A different AD handeled my recent service and has been advised of the diffirent dial color, they are checking into it. Service that Breitling was to be perform was an overhaul, new movment arms, new crystal and tighten the gold points on the bezel as they had come up.

As for the date markings. I believe I read somewhere on this site that was something Breitling started on later model watches. Correct me if I'm wrong but I think my watch was made just before they started doing that. I have no markings around 6 only the model and serial number around 3.

I do have a couple pics of my watch after the "remodel" but not sure If I am able to post them, or how.
