Good morning,

I've been toying with getting a vintage watch for a few years. I don't have a problem spending money on custom knives, guns or the occasional Toyota Land Cruiser, but have struggled to spend several thousand dollars on a watch. My wife gave me a watch for my birthday and told me to pick it out. In 2 months of looking around, I find myself dream to Breitling, but haven't pulled the trigger on one. I think the reason is I don't know anything about watches, whereas I know a fair amount about custom knives and guns.

I hope to learn something and not drop money on something that is a fake etc.

Have a nice weekend.

David

I thought I wanted a yachting co pilot 7652 and made an offer on one that is listed on eBay at the moment. Fortunately the offer was declined, because I have since seen a super ocean 2105, which I think is going to be the watch for me. They appear to be a bit more expensive than I'd planned, but I really like the looks of it. I'll ramp my search for one up in January.

I really appreciate the offer from you all to review any prospective purchase. That's nice to have some knowledge readily available. Some forums (a gun site I'm thinking of) kind of want people to read thousands of posts and learn for themselves. I certainly expect to learn, but it's nice that you offer assistance so readily.
