I've been a long-time member of The Watch Forum, having owned a number of RLTs over the years. Have been an intermittent lurker here for a while, but having just bought my third Breitling I thought it was about time I signed up.

My first Breitling was a Colt quartz A57035 bought s/h but when it was just a few months old from Austin Kaye in The Strand, probably around 1997.

That served me well for a good few years, until I sold it in 2005.

I bought my second Breitling at the end of 2011, as advance 60th birthday present. I had always liked the understated simplicity of the Shark, and prefer a mechanical movement over quartz, so when this one came up on TWF sales corner, I had to have it. After I'd had it about 6 months, it suddenly stopped. I sent it to Steve Burrage at Rytetime, who found that it had a broken mainspring. He did an excellent job repairing and servicing it for a very reasonable price, and it is still one of my regular wearers. :)

I acquired my third, and latest, Breitling earlier this week, from the same TWF member I had bought the Shark from. It's a stunning example of the last, and in my opinion best, incarnation of the classic Superocean A17360 (006/B909), before the advent of completely redesigned Superocean II/ Abyss/42. It's in mint condition, having been kept in a safe unworn from its original purchase new in Aug 2010 until Apr 2012, and has been only rarely worn since. Photos don't do justice to how this beauty looks in the flesh. Without doubt, this is my all-time favourite. :D

Welcome Hotmog.

I agree with what you say about the late old SO; I have the same incarnation in coral.
