My Breitling story may be familiar to some of you.
I have always loved these fine watches but I have never been abe to afford one and have spent hours leering through jewellery shop windows and browsing the internet, about 10 years ago I fine tuned-my dream choice to a Navitimer but it was still a pipe dream.
Through the years I never faltered from my dream, rolex, tag etc have never tempted me to change my mind, they just don't have the same appeal. I have kept my eye on ebay auctions for years, just getting an idea of models and prices without ever bidding, and i've saved countless internet pages to my 'favouites', just waiting for the day when I could finally plunge into the market.
This year I passed 40, this was always going to be 'the year' but my birthday came and went and still no Breitling, wife & 2 kids, 2 cars, mortgage, house that needs lots of work.....you know the score, I just couldn't justify the outlay.
Then 2 weeks ago I was sat in the tv lounge where I work and in amongst all the magzines and papers was a 'Breitling 2007-2008 catalogue' with price list !!!!!! very very wierd, I have no idea where it came from but I convinced myself that this was a message.
By the time I got home I was now determined to buy and began surfing the net with renewed vigour, my budget didn't stretch to a new watch but well cared for used watches are not too difficult to find. It was looking like ebay until I stumbled across a jewellers about 40 miles away from me who were selling a used 2006 Navi world, black face on a steel bracelet with all docs and box described as completely imaculate with no marks or scratches whatsoever. Without telling the wife I jumped in the car and did the deal, £2,250 after some haggling, i'm still pinching myself as I type. Its evrerything I ever dreamed it would be and more.
The jewellers are an AD and they have also given me a 12mth warranty as they originally sold the watch from new.....Mark Worthington Jewellers in Wilmslow, Cheshire if your'e interested....highly recommended.
I can't afford it but I don't care now.
