Hey guys.....I'm new to watches and have been reading up on the movements and history of different manufactures. After having a few kids and working in sales I wanted to reward myself with something nice as it seems like everything I do is for the family and work. After reviewing some different types I have decided on getting a Montbrilliant 01 limited with leather band. I love the style and after researching Breitling I just love their watches. Now, i'm new to this and want to make sure I do this right. Any suggestions for a Noob who is looking at getting a Breitling and maybe starting a collection? Any good places to buy them and should I always go to a dealer? Anything to look out for? I appreciate the help and have enjoyed reading the topics the last few weeks. Todd |

Hi and welcome aboard! If you are new to watches in general, then I'd suggest that your first Breitling should always be from an Authorised Dealer (AD). This will give you the full experience of owning a hgh-end watch from new, and it will guarantee that it's 100% genuine. If you are based in the States contact member FEAR or Jnelson3097 as they represent two forum sponsoring AD's and will be able to give you the very best price. If you are UK based, then try Andrew Michaels (member Ricardo) or Bankslyon as they are UK sponsors. Any of these will work with you to get you the best deal available. Going to an AD is also teh only way to ensure you get a Breitling warranty - which again is well worth having. The other piece of advice I would give, is just read voraciously on places like this. Knowledge is absolutely key to making sure you know what you want and to make sure you aren't ripped off. Resources like this place are usually more knowledgable and often better informed than 99% of AD salespeople, so if you want to know something about a watch, ask it here first! Again, welcome aboard, and feel free to ask anything you like. As they old saying goes, "If a man asks a question, he may look stupid once. If a man doesn't ask a question, he may look stupid forever". |
