Hi everyone, i'm Jii from Finland. Decided it's about time to finally post here after years of lurking since I'll be getting my first Breitling by the end of this month, finally!

My "Breitling-story" goes like this:
In the late nineties the coolest watch that you could have according to the people I hung around with was a Breitling, and one of the guys actually had one (an Aerospace if I remember correctly) and that's how I got to know the brand (I was more of a G-shock person back then and still have a fascination and respect for them as well but anyway) and started to get interested in nice watches.

Fast forward to somewhere around 2007 when I spotted the Chrono Avenger in the movie Blood Diamond and started to pay attention to Breitling ads in the local business magazine which I read at work - that's when I started to get that itch. Visited some Ad:s, collected Chronologs (which I'm sad to say I've misplaced while moving house), tried on different models and so on and so on. Considered the CA, the Super Avenger and the Seawolf back then but never had the chance to actually get one. Then came the steel Seawolf which absolutely knocked me over and I was dead set on getting it but once again other financial needs postponed the purchase. Got myself another, cheaper automatic and did some buying and selling until I settled for my current one, the Benarus Sea Devil that I've been wearing day in and day out since I got it.

Anyways, got myself a new job opportunity at the end of last year and finally I have the means to get myself a new watch. Did some research and tried on several different makes and models and was quite set on the new white baton dial Seawolf but the height of it hindered me from going the distance (I want a less bulky watch after wearing the Sea Devil for so long). Did some more researching and then I stumbled on the Steelfish, which I had totally forgot about during all these years, I had seen them in the flesh years ago, even tried one on but I was so set on the Avengers that I never actually considered it back then. But now, three years later it seems to tick all the boxes for me and I was lucky enough to find one with the coveted silver dial at Andrew Michaels and have paid the deposit for it and am waiting for the end of the month to finalise my purchase. I'm really excited to be so close to my dream coming true and have been reading just about everything I have found online about the watch :)

I guess you'll be seeing me around these parts more in the future! Thanks for reading my long and boring story!

Welcome on the Steelfish - a fan favorite around these parts.

Exact same thing happened to me.

That story wasn't boring at all Jii (it must have been boring for you having to wait all that time to get your dream watch :) ). Anyway, welcome and hope you enjoy your watch when it comes. :D

Aaaaaaaand ordered and paid for! Thanks to Richard at Andrew Michaels, you were really nice to deal with over the phone and email! Not to mention that it was his pictures of the Steelfish in the snow on this forum that made me settle for it :). Going to have to wear gloves during the wait to spare my nails from being chewed off...

Got the box on my office desk, it's taking me all my willpower not to tear it open right here and now. But I really want to do it the right way in no hurry at home with a camera. Just a couple of hours more to go :)

Great story...I think our personal stories are greater than the watches.
Welcome to a new page in your story here.

Oooh, unboxing pics. Got the zulu in the mail today as well :)

Nicer box!

So hard to capture the dial in this crappy lighting but I had to get a pic of the watch itself, right?

The size is perfect, I love the dial and everything else about the watch as well, especially the mix of brushed and polished parts. So happy!
