Post subject:  HiYa Breitling Fans,

I have wanted a Breitling wristwatch my entire adult life. The first one I saw was in a PX in VietNam. I was KNOCKED OUT by it's looks but I had to settle on a SEIKO. Privates can't afford Breitlings. Heck, I never even knew that a wristwatch could cost that much. I denied myself my entire life, that is until now. I always wanted a Chronomat, the one with the gold pushers and the gold rider tabs. I didn't even know what the rider tabs were called untill I started surfing the net. Over the years my tastes have changed though and I have decided on a Blackbird. I'm a little too late it seems though. I just recently found out that the Blackbird model that I wanted isn't being made any longer. I've learned that it's been replaced by a "New and Improved" model. I kind of liked, what am I saying? I love the 1st model, with the smaller diameter and the rounded pushers and crown. And the fact that it not flashy at all but retains the handsome qualities of the chronomat. I bought one on e-Bay that looked teriffic but I learned that it didn't keep time well at all so I returned it, heartbroken, but I'm still looking. If anyone can help me, I'd like to find one that might be a "Left Over" or unsold by a dealer or has hardly been used by someone. If anyone could steer me in the right direction I'd sure appreciate it. Thanks gang!

:welcome: aboard Lavet. see how the love of bling could last a lifetime :)

either the new or old model you can not go wrong, both are of excellent build and quality. however if you insist on the old model try the trade section over here and post your desire and maybe you will get lucky.

Hey Lavit

Firstly :welcome:

I was a bit like you. No way could I buy new from an AD but I just read and read and read until I was confident I wouldn't get ripped off then picked up what I think is the perfect watch for me and at bargain price on EBay. It's not about how much you spend but about how much pleasure you get from the watch you buy!

As for the (original) Blackbird, you've zero chance of finding one at an AD. They ended production in 2004 so even the slowest dealer will be sold out by now. Just be patient and search every week on Ebay. There are no good replicas of this watch so get to know it really well and you'll be able to spot anyone selling a cheap (or not so cheap) fake.

Did you know there was a limited edition blue dial Blackbird unofficially called the Bluebird? Never seen one in real life but it's my car mechanic's ultimate aim to own one!
