Just thought I'd say a quick hello. I've been browsing this forum for a while now and thought its about time I joined.

I purchased my Coral Breitling Emergency back in 2008, it was a bit of an impulse buy whilst the wife an I were in Singapore. With the £ being so strong at the time the offer was too good to miss.

This is my second decent watch, my first being my Rolex Yacht-master. The Breitling has been my daily wearer since I purchased it. It had the diver pro rubber strap initially but I found it made my wrist sweat. After a quick trip to my local AD I purchased a Breitling leather one and I haven't looked back since.

I've just dropped my Emergency in for its first service, apparently it may take upto 12 weeks so my Yacht-master is going to get some wrist time.

After speaking with my AD they said I may have to pay for this first service as it was overdue by 1 year. Breitling recommend every two years for the emergency. Has anyone else heard of this? She also said Breitling probably wont refinish the case as that's not a part of the 'free' service.

Here are a few pics of my minuscule collection.

Thanks for looking.

Welcome to the forum,

the two years service interval for the Emergency has been established, as it is considered a professional rescue device. When You want to rely on it, You have to check it on a regular basis. If You just wear it as a watch, it would not be necessary, but You also have no garanty, that the emergency funciton will work when required.
