Hello. I joined this forum to do some research on Breitling, I'm having a very hard time deciding which watch I want to get next. Right now its between a Breitling and Omega, and I have a feeling I know what everyone on this forum will tell me...haha. I have my eyes on a Navitimer with the metal navitimer braclet, I like the lower profile/thinner bezels. |

Well as far as comparison between the Breitling and Omega, I've chosen two from each brand that I'm looking at. In Omega I'm looking at a Speedmaster professional, and as stated before I like the Breitling Navitimer. I actually have no need for the chronos, I just like the busy-ness of the watch face of a chrono over a plain watch face. I may go for a thinner plain face watch after one of these, in which I'll need to do some more research on. The thing is, even if I get a plain face watch, I have a feeling it wont get much use and will just sit as part of a collection. The Breitling seems to be a bit much more than the Omega also, and I haven't decided whether or not that is a factor yet. I'm also open to used in very good condition ones for either. |

Tough choice between the two. For me it would be the Navi, simply based on the fact, if I'm not wrong, that the Omega has a manual wind movement and, plus the fact that I am indeed a bit biased. ![]() For a non-biased opinion I asked my wife which she would choose. The Omega won out. Why? She said it's "prettier". ![]() |

Two classic watches to choose from. I think the navi is a cooler all around watch and prob a little less common in the wild. Plus in y opinion the strap options are better when you want to change up the bracelet. |

So I have eliminated the Speedmaster Professional and have entered the Speedmaster date because my current (only) watch (Tag SLR) is a black face, and have decided I want my next to not have a black face. The pro doesn't seem to come in a white face according to the website, and as addressed two posts above, the Omega speedmaster date is an automatic. There are versions of the Navi that have white face, but the original with the blue and white dials looks attractive also. Tough decision. It will probably come down to what opportunity presents itself for a good deal first. |

Welcome! I have just got my first Navitimer for Christmas (an Olympus, i.e. not the Montbrilliant version) and I love it. As more experienced members will say, they are very different and both desirable. But the Breitling Navitimer look is classic and swung it for me! Good luck with whatever you choose. |

Thanks for the welcomes everyone. I'm starting to lean towad the Navi because even with a white dial, I think the Omega will be more similar to my black dial SLR, where as the Navi, even with the dark blue face, will be a much different look. I'll have to go try one on, I'm sort of a skinny person and I hope the navi isn't too big. Ideally, a navi world with white dial. |
