My love for Breitling started about 7-8 years ago when I just happen to browse their site and see the titanium Avenger. It was love at first sight and a few months later I got mine from a South African dealer in Cape Town. Such was the start of my inseparable love affair with my Chrono Avenger!
I live in Namibia and my profession as an underground mining contractor physically expose my watch constantly to many possible damages. I can profess though that the CA is more than man enough for a tough job! But, it was not all easy going. I dropped it once onto a tiled bathroom floor and that was the beginning of several repair attempts. But more about that later perhaps.
Then a few years ago, I saw the Super Avenger and I was hooked! Only thing that really put me off getting one was the polished steel design. I have tried many times to like it but I just cannot get to grips with such a shiny piece! Of course it is different horses for different courses. Then sadly I slipped up on the Black Steel model. In fact, I only found out about their existence in the last year or so! That started me on a guest to find one of them 3000 units! Easier said than done living in Namibia. After so many months of searching and enquiries all around, I found nothing but a possible few pre-owned ones in the USA. I endured a lot of ridicule through my persistence to try and buy one of them from its American owner who bluntly refused to sell it outside of the States. So eventually I settled on a black Seawolf after bemoaning my lost (of a SA) to the patient sales manager of Breitling SA.
Then everything changed today. I received a friendly call from the same sales manager at Breitling SA this afternoon to ask me if I really wanted the Seawolf and not perhaps a SA BS! I curted the woman for making fun of my predicament only to be told that she managed to find me a brand spanking new Super Avenber Black Steel somewhere in a dusty storeroom in Europe! She took pity on me after my tearful last call and made it her mission to try and find me one! I sincerely hope she has a huge office to accommodate the bunch of flowers she's going to get!
Man, I am just not in command enough of the English language to try and explain to you my absolute and utter disbelief and exhilaration about this news! Well, after that emotional outbreak,
I will now go sit in the corner again and wait for my new watch!Regards
