Hi everyone,
first and foremost I am a proud Breitling owner -- a circa 2000 (I believe 2002 via the serial number) Chronomat Longitude with a pilot's band, and a black face. I simply love it, I got it after graduating high school. I was 'destined' to have a rolex as majority of my family does -- important to note Mom has an Omega, and I decided to be different and go with a Breitling. Thus far the watch has been great to me, I've had to have it refinished about four times, but I wear it a lot!! I just recently got it back from BUSA, having a full overhaul done and refinish which to my surprise was a lot cheaper than I would have figured.
Ever since I can remember I have always had a passion for watches.. When the Seiko kinetic watches came out, I had one of those as a birthday present, and have always been fond of most all watches. In fact right now, I currently wear a Luminox Anniversary model, which does great for occasions that do not require a sophisticated and elegant watch such as a Breitling.
My family came from humble back grounds, but had instilled into them and their future generations a hard work ethic. My Grandfather (rest his soul) gave me the passion for watches that I have today.. He was a big fan of Rolex and owned a couple, he also had some very, very old Pateks which were passed onto my Uncle, most notably one he was given by his Father that was all yellow gold and very, very nice.

As of recent I have been thinking about going back to Rolex (Submariner s/s black face w/ date or a GMT configured the same) for a less flashy more basic looking watch that would have really good durability and longevity as far as servicing and such goes (feel free to correct me if I'm wrong!), or perhaps a larger Breitling as my watch seems some what small on me now as I've aged and wrists have gotten larger, that and my Luminox is larger so it makes the Breitling's size more noticeable.

Any how that's probably good for my introduction, I guess I could also tell you that I live in central Missouri, with my lovely girl friend and best friend; a Cane Corso (Italian Mastiff) named Moses. I am also trying to find out what the value of my Breitling could be so I don't get hosed at the Jewelers, I've tried finding similar Breitlings at eBay; however, mine is freshly back from BUSA, is in new condition, and I am having a hard time ascertaining the value of my watch because I don't see models configured like mine being sold. For reference the serial number is: A20348.

Thanks all and hello!

p.s.: an unfortunately larger picture of my Luminox than I wanted to post..

Welcome to BreitlingSource. The recent service won't add much to the value of the watch unfortunately, maybe $200. There is an example of your model on Chrono24 - http://www.chrono24.com/en/search/index ... mresults=1

but bear in mind that one comes with strap and bracelet and that is a dealer asking price - the sale price will be lower.

Thank you very much for your help. If indeed I go Rolex, I hope I don't get hosed too bad!

Another quick question, I've searched a little bit to no luck, and without further searching I don't want to start a thread on it..

Does Breitling still sell watches with the black 'plastic' boxes? I know they're not plastic, they're some kind of material as I was told when I bought mine, heard they don't use them any more, and they're kind of rare.. Not sure if what I heard is nothing more than garbage hearsay, but figured I'd ask as well!

They're bakelite and they still use them, but the style has changed over the years.

Thank you Sharkmouth!
I have been lurking for quite sometime before I joined up. I figured what the heck, I'm already on so many boards, why not another?! Especially this one, it's more informative than a webster's dictionary.
