Hi everyone, wow what a great place for information, I have been wanting to buy a breitling for awhile now, I guess my question is I have seen lots on e-bay and what do you guys think about buying a watch from there, as I do not have a retailer close to me, or should i wait till I am near a retailer?

Thanx

Welcome to the site. As far as buying on ebay, if it's going to be your first, buy from an AD. Since I'm guessing you're in Canada by your screen name, you should contact Roffensian for a good AD to work with up there.

Welcome to BreitlingSource.

There are a lot of watches on eBay that are perfectly fine, and there are also a lot of fakes. Use the replica section here to learn and don't be afraid to ask for help there when you find a specific piece that you like.

As jnelson3097 says, I can also hook you up with a Canadian AD who can ship to you if you are happy buying sight unseen.

thanx for the quick replys guys wow that was fast, on e-bay I know some sellers have papers that go with the watch is that safe to say that it is authentic? or can people make fake papers as well?

I will send a link to one i am looking at right now and let me know what ya think and also what kind of a price do these go for ?

As long as serial number matches between the papers nad the watch then you should be safe, but it's always worth posting in the replica section to be sure. If someone can fake a watch then they can use a colour photocopier on the papers!

The watch that you posted is real, but don't forget that buying from the US means import duty as well as sales taxes.

Enjoy your time here!

I've 3 Breitlings - all from eBay! I spent a LOT of time learning about replicas before buying and am happy to share my knowledge here. Post any links in the replica section for scrutiny.

The Chrono Colt you linked to above is fine. The replica has incorrect sub-dials.

Mine came from ebay but it didn't sell. I contacted the seller and he shipped it to a friend in town who allowed me to examine the watch before making a full commitment although we had tentatively settled on a price.

Of course, cruising the forums, listening to the experts here, watching the sales forum and keeping an eye on current ebay auctions helps too - as does a little luck.

Oh - and welcome.

Hi

Call La swiss AD. I suggest you to call La Swiss in Fairwiew mall in Toronto , they are very friendly, I am sure they will help you. I bought my dream watch superoccean steelfish blue dile yesterday. They provide me with outmost excellent service. Thats what I did from Port Dover, ON.

Welcome. I have seen a few nice Breitlings on eBay but there is always that doubt. I bought mine from a UK forum where the seller had a good history.
