Hiya folks - my name is Gerry and I am a genuine WIS. I tend to buy used and have a few decent watches including this one:

"Smitten" doesn't begin to describe how I feel about the B-1. From the heft to the options on the LCD's to the E6B, it's a great watch. This one was on ebay and didn't sale. I sent the seller a note asking for his lowest price and he sent the watch to a friend who met me to examine the watch and complete the deal. This one had a fresh service/polish to it looks 'like-new.'

Besides watches, I do a little kayaking and at work, I'm kind of an enforcer of the rules. I've traveled quite a bit in Mexico and even more in Brazil. I seem to be happiest when I'm south of the border and I think the only solution is to retire there in a few years.

Life has been tough for so many of us recently - we've been extremely blessed though - as I hope all of you have been also.

Great looking watch. Welcome to BS.com

You mention retiring south of the border, which is something I have been interested in as of late. Unfortunately.... at 27 I have a long way to go.

Enjoy your time here

Thanks for the welcome.

Seems like yesterday when I was about your age and finishing up college. Uncle Sam took a few years of my life so I was a late-bloomer.

One thing that I clearly remember from that first day at that first job was talking to someone about retirement. I've been planning, saving and thinking about it ever since.

My wife, MrsK7 aka the Mad Brazilian, often accusing me of marrying her just so I could live legally in Brazil upon retirement. I wouldn't quite go that far - fate took are of that for me.

27 is never too young to start thinking about retirement. It seems like yesterday to me. Now, if the next few years would pass just as quickly.

But the way, google 'sao sabastiao brazil' - that's the area that we're considering.

Morei la, perto de Ilhabela por alguns anos! Un lugar bem bonito! Morei em Ipiranga (na capital) e depois fui pra Caragua, e apos Sao Sebastiao!

By the way welcome to the forum! I absolutely loved the years that I lived there.

Justin

I was thinking the same thing when I saw this thread's title, though I thought it was "wealth and taste."

Very cool Justin - what were you doing there if you don't mind me asking? We'll go down in March - freq flyer tickets booked already! - and poke around the area. I have a friend who lives on Ilhabela but really don't want to deal with the ferry rides.

In the fall of 2011, we're planning a coastal kayak trip in the same area. I've got two friends who want to open a kayak business. My wife has always wanted to operate a hotel. I don't know where all of this is going but I may work harder in "retirement" than now!

Except for my wife and a few decent watches, I am 'none of the above'. 8)

Hmmm...I work just across Central Ave. from Park Central. And I travel to Ahwatukee frequently but my trips there always seem to end up at Ganem. If you go there talk to Rebecca and tell her Tom from breitlingsource sent ya.

Will do - was just in there the other day and picked up a Chronolog. Yell if you ever want to meet for lunch at Park Central.
