Hello everyone. I've been interested in watches for about a year now. Can't remember exactly how I got introduced into Breitlings, but it was a Headwind that first grabbed my attention and I've been fascinated since.

I've been reading the forums and reviews of Breitlingsource for about five months now, so it's about time I actually join the fray.

I've got my eye on two watches: the Headwind and the 2007 Super Avenger, both with a blue dial and steel bracelet. So basically it's bling vs practicality, but anything is still possible.

Welcome!

The SA is BOTH bling and practical... :)

At 18.6 mm thick, I don't know if I have any long sleeves that would work with the SA. Also, I'm only 6'2" with 7.25" wrists, and I'm not sure if I could pull it off. That all being said, I really do like huge watches, and it doesn't get much bigger than the SA...

On the other hand, the Headwind's day complication would be extremely useful to me, since I hardly ever know what day of the week it is (or time of day, for that matter). I also like the simplicity of the design, and how crisp the dial is with it's silver dial (I forget the name for this method, maybe admin could help me out with that). But I've actually never seen one in person since they are so hard to come by; I don't even know if I would really like how it would look on my wrist.

I just wish I could try out each for like a week, see if I could live with the massiveness of the SA, and if I could live with the smaller Headwind.

I'm only 6'2"

:D That puts you in the tallest 5% of the US male population! How big do you want to be? Spare a thought for us short arses who are just 5'8" :P

Anyway, welcome to the forum Breightbling. :welcome:

I think you should go for the Headwind myself. I do think the SA looks somewhat ridiculous on smaller wrists but at the end of the day, it's what YOU like, not what anyone else thinks. Whatever you decide, welcome to the club and remember it's compulsory to post pictures of your new watch.

Thanks Sharkmouth for the welcome, I guess I forget the I'm above average in height because of the company I keep (my mom is 5'10", my dad is 6'2", and my girlfriend is 5'11"). Also, I've always been under the impression you have to be like 6'8" with 8" wrists to sport SA's. I still haven't actually seen a headwind in person, and two days ago I tried on an SA and I thought it looked fantastic.

Over the years I've been going more bling in style (hence the name), and I really think it'd be nice to make my first Breitling a new one, so I've decided on the SA.

And as soon as I get one, don't worry: my camera has a macro setting

You will love the SA!!! I am only 5'7", 155lbs, and 7.5" wrists and I wear my white SA 23.5 hours a day! I only take it off long enough to shower and get ready to leave the house. I am really putting the practicality of the SA to the test. Besides the small cut on my forehead after waking up one morning, I have not found anything unpractical about the SA. Admittedly, I probably wear it too much, but I love it and I have always been in the habit of wearing my watch 24/7. Just because I am no longer wearing Fossils doesn't mean that has to change.... right?

If you sleep with your arm on your head......... BEWARE!!!!
