Greetings from Sacramento. I'm new to the forum and a new Breitling owner.

I have a question that I'm hoping I can get answered: After doing much due diligence I purchased a Chrono Avenger M1 from an AD. It stopped working after about 3 weeks of use :( . I'm guessing since it is quartz movement the battery ran dead, it was in the AD's display case for some time (not sure if the crown was pulled or not). Does anyone have any thoughts if my assumption is correct? Hoping I did not get stuck with a lemon. I intend to send back for warranty repair. A little suprised since I've owned multiple Rolex and Tags over the past 25+ years with no issues.

Thanks

Welcome to the site. I think you are probably correct about it being a battery problem. Assuming you purchased it new, it's likely the watch has been sitting for some time at the AD since it was last manufactured in 2008. The M1 lacks an EOL (end of life) indicator feature so it's difficult to say precisely if that is the problem but given the inherent reliability of quartz I would be highly suspicious of it.

It should be a simple fix at the AD. Hope this doesn't give you a bad taste in your mouth for the brand. Batteries will be batteries :) Hopefully that's all that is wrong.

Post some pics for us when you get a chance and best of luck.

Welcome to BreitlingSource.

ADs generally don't pull the crowns on quartz watches (which I think they should), so it likely is a battery problem. The watch has been discontinued for a while so has obviously been sitting at the AD for some time.

I tend to disagree a bit. Heres how I see it. If you leave it run they should stand behind the battery after sold for at least one battery change (if the watch has run in their display case for so many months). On the other hand I would rather have to pay to have a battery changed than to deal with dust that I have seen get into the watch and under the crystal from leaving crowns pulled out in display cases..

Thanks for the posts. The AD suspects the same issue with the battery. It's been sent to Breitling for warranty repair. I should have it back it approx 4 weeks. I'll post some pics when i get it back. I have not lost faith in the brand, I think Breitling has the best looking watches in the market. In fact I'm already looking around to acquire a Chronomat Evolution. Specifically looking for a two tone w/two tone bracelet and MOP dial.

Thanks again
