To begin, my name is Jeremy. I live 30 minutes north of Boston, MA. I am new to the forums, but I suppose my introduction and forum activity have been a little flip-flopped, as it were.... Upon finding this forum in one of my numerous Google meanderings, I milked it for information while it the midst of the search for my first Breitling, after admiring the brand from afar for many years. I have drooled over the authoritative wrist presence and stately demeanor of the Breitlings ever since I first laid eyes on them. I would stand in front of the windows at Tourneau (the closest local AD) like the kid from "A Christmas Story" starting at that Red Ryder BB Gun.... When I recently decided it was my time to "wear the wonder", I began perusing the pre-owned market. After hours of research on how to spot a fake, fueled by info I procured from this website, and research on values, qualities, model variations and the like, I became torn between new and used. When I came across a recommendation for George @ Govberg, I figured a phone call couldn't hurt. Lo and behold, less than a week later, my Brand New Super Avenger arrived in my hands (after a little negotiation with FedEx including a little pleading to get them to return to my house to re-attempt the delivery that I missed by 15 minutes. If I recall correctly, I used the term "time-sensitive contents" to help convince the operator of the urgency of the matter ![]() Wearing an Air Force Blue Dial with silver sub-dials, with a glistening Professional II wrapped proudly around my wrist, it is everything I had hoped it would be and more. The compliments abound, and I swell with pride every time I look at it. What beauty! The size, the weight, the gleam.... everything! A great thanks to those on the board who have already helped me with my questions (even to those who don't know they've helped me, due to my prodigious use of the "search function"!). Everyone's knowledge and help has been very useful and appreciated! Now, my only question for the moment remains: How do I become a member of the Full Ling Club? ![]() |

Welcome to BreitlingSource and congratulations on joining the Breitling club. The SA on Pro II already makes you a member of the Full Ling club!! Great story too, watches are so much more special when you have to wait for them. |

It used to be in the 'view more smilies' section. Not sure where it is now that the software has been updated. I'm sure someone who uses it can tell you the code when they see this. |

Great story! Mine is almost identical to yours, except that I'm on the other coast, still staring in the window, putting quarters in my piggy bank. Almost there! This forum and website is priceless to us newbies trying to educate ourselves. Thanks for sharing! |

This forum and website is priceless to us newbies trying to educate ourselves. Thanks for sharing! Keep the quarters comin'!!! Good things come to those who wait. And like Roff said, "watches are so much more special when you have to wait for them." I think that's true of anything though. I'm sure some on the other side of the fence may disagree, but when I have to work hard and save and wait for the things I desire, they mean a whole lot more to me than I imagine they would if it was as much of a challenge as walking into a store and buying a pack of gum! Good luck on your Breitling acquisition. It will be worth the work and the wait! What model do you have your eye on? |

I also absolutely, positively know I want a Navitimer World. It will definitely be my second watch, and should come by the end of 2010. I see a lot of voluntary overtime in the coming year! ![]() |
