Hi Guys,

Just purchased a Colt II Automatic. First "nice" watch I have owned. (Definitely beats my fossil) However, out of curiosity what is the average life expectancy of the watch itself taking in account daily wear? In addition, how do I identify when the watch was made?

Hi and welcome to the site. Congratulations on the Colt. It's a great watch and I know you will enjoy it. The life expectancy with regular maintainance should be just that -life. Read the instruction manual thoroughly, take care of it, have it serviced regularly and in reality it should be the last watch you should ever have to buy. Of course hang around this forum long enough and the Colt will have a way of gathering friends. :) The date stamp can be found between the 6:00 lugs.
