hey, i just joined!
i just picked up my superavenger about 2 weeks ago, and had the liori bezel installed right when i got it. i love this watch, it is my 2nd "real" watch, i also have an omega Seamaster Aqua Terra Chronometer. I wanted some info on the cape cod cloth, on maintaining the polished finish on the super avenger. how well does it work? would it be safe to use on the bezel, it is the 14k gold one. will it mess up the non-glare coating on the crystal if it accidentally touches it?
thanks for the help, great site!

Hello and welcome!

My screen isn't perfectly adjusted, is that a blue dial SA?

I'd avoid using Cape Cods on the bezel, partly because I have no idea what it would do to the diamonds and partly because I woudn't want it near the crystal. There is a small risk you might polish off the AR coating, and that risk is enough for me to avoid it. However, on the watch case and bracelet you should be perfectly safe (as long as you like the vanilla scent).

Hello.

Cape Cods are an excellent (if slightly messy, and vanilla-smelling!) product.

As Aleister said, they will work a treat on the steel, and they will also work very well on the gold, however as gold is softer than steel, you'd have to be careful with the amount of pressure you apply compared to the steel. Additionally if it's a white-gold bezel (which I assume it is) you need to be doubly careful as often white gold is given a rhodium-plate finish to give it it's lustre, which can be worn off if you polish it too vigorously. Not sure if your bezel will have a rhodium finish or not, but either way it pays to be very careful.

I'm sure the Cods won't damage the diamonds as after-all, they're made of diamond! ( ), but the polishing compound may get stuck inbetween the stones which will be a nightmare to clean out. If I was you I'd just stick to polishing the case and bracelet as Aleister said.

Welcome. That's some nice bling action you've got going on there. The Cap Cods work well and will have your SA looking brand new after every use.
