Hello! On impulse, I bid on a Breitling purported to be from 1940 (eBay). As it turns out, I won. Then I noticed it was coming from Argentina. Not a guarantee of anything, but made me raise an eyebrow, and now I'm asking for knowledge. Thus far, it works, which is about all I "know". What is it? Is it a fake? Do you need more pics or description? Thank you for your assistance. |

actually looks correct - which is, admittedly, a nice surprise coming from Argentina. case manufactured in 1951, assembly ca. 1953-55 |

It is surprising. The most famous things to come from Argentina are Empanadas, Eva Peron, and fake watches. |

Thank you both. I was ready to claim counterfeit when I realized it was coming from Argentina, not Arkansas. ![]() When it arrived, I couldn't find an obvious tell that it was fake, but I'm far from an expert. You guys/gals are. Thank you for your assistance. I'm indebted to you. I also didn't include the crown in the pics. I'm correcting the oversight in case it helps someone in the future. |
