Hi all

I am on the lookout for my very first vintage Breitling - a Navitimer 806 - hopefully one of many.
I have my eyes set on the following two on Chrono24. Can someone please help me with some feedback on originality, condition and other things to be aware of?

Very much appreciated,
Jacob

First one is probably fine. Bezel looks odd in some of the pics, but probably just the photography. I’d ask for a photo of the caseback, the serial number, and the movement.

The second is original but the case has been over polished. If you look at the lugs, you’ll see the sharp edges are gone. Also Try to find one where the luminescent material on the dial is more yellow vs black.

Actually I’m going to retract on the first one. I looked too quickly, let me correct my post.

don’t know what Dave’s original comment was, but agree w/ the current evaluation ;)
if all checks our re serial and markings, the 1st is a lovely piece.

I thought it had a service dial, but it doesn’t.

Great thanks - I was also a bit unsure with this dial with red marks, as I could not find a lot of 806's with these marks. Do you know if this dial has a specific name?

I will try to provide photos of the caseback, the serial number, and the movement.

You get the red marks from 1967 and onwards.

It looks to me that the first one has undergone some polishing too. Not as bad as the second, but the lug edges look a bit rounded too.
