Unsure. The 4004 on the back would be the model/ reference number, and the movement is stamped 227 which is a Venus cal 227. There isn’t that much documentation on Breitling dress watches but it feels/looks ok to me, but the caseback is a bit odd - normally in English I think.... case looks replated.... Thank you! That was indeed helpful. I do have a question, though. The Venus movement you cited is a 24 jewel where this one is marked 17 jewel. I thought it was a A.Schild (AS) Cal. 227 17 jewel, which was a Breitling used movement also??? |

I think if it was replated it wouldn't have the original plating mark on the side.

Replating can be anything from 5 - 20 microns. This would not fill in or obliterate the original plating stamp, particularly one as deep as this appears to be. |

Depends how vigorous the guy polishes it first before replating. I don't think all Breitling watches have that stamp anyway. |

There appears to be enough flaws, like the upper left lug, that would have been corrected prior to plating. At least one would hope someone wouldn't replate a lug that looked like that. Even the upper right lug has flaws in it. The back has been refinished too if you want to be completely accurate. You can check out his pics on ebay. |
