| Post subject: | Franken Breitling Premier? |
Hi all, First post so forgive me if the anything is lacking. My friend is currently in Prague and I asked him to keep an eye out for vintage Breitling. He saw what looked like a vintage Premier. Unfortunately he only took a picture of the face of the watch and not the rest of the case/ caseback/ movement. Looking at it, it appears the hour and minutes hands aren’t blued like the other hands on the dial, which makes me suspicious that this may be a franken, but as I’ve no experience with vintage Breitling I have no idea. Additionally, this watch appears to be priced at around $300. If it could be genuine I’ll get him to go and grab pics of the rest of the case/ movement tomorrow. Thanks for your help. |

Thanks Watchfred. I’ve got a couple more pictures from him, as you’ve said seems to be a 789 from 1945 judging by the serial number. Chronograph seems to be working smoothly. Also got the price wrong, it’s being sold for ~£670. Would I be overpaying (not asking for an exact valuation, just would like to know if the shop is taking us for a ride with its pricing)? Thanks |
