The Navitimer is a 1957 that my father wore in the Air Force. The others I got in China for $50 each.

I thought I’d wear a fake to save the original for my son, but the slide rule on the fakes is not accurate for calculations. Quickest way I found to begin identifying a fake is to see that 3 x 6 =17.6

So these photos just here for the record.

I have another Navitimer from 1971 that Dad bought at the Manhattan store after signing his first book deal. It’s currently in the shop to replace a stopwatch button. (Which the shop says don’t exist so they want to replace them both with the current style)

Be cautious about sending vintage watches back to Breitling, they have a habit of replacing hands, dials and other bits with non-vintage parts (which usually are available from other sources).

I get the sentiment, but any cent spent on fake watches is one cent too much. Surely we don’t want to see any injection of capital into this industry so that it can further undermine the legitimate industry; and worse, provide fodder that supports scammers fraudulently cheating money out of innocent people.

I hear you. I hoped providing pics of the latest fakes might help someone. I’ll use the guts to build some Frankenwatches for the nephews.
