Hi, anyone recognize this vintage chronograph from the 1940s? Never seen one like it. Movement is a Venus 150. Thanks for your help, |

Thanks, and agreed, surely a redial. Wondering what model/date and any other details as can't seem to find anything like it. |

its not the greatest picture, but there are loads of slot pusher straight lug chronographs back then. Not even knowing what brand it might be slows down the detective work.... |

Do you mean that you would assume the Breitling logo was added afterwards as part of the redial? You don't believe it could originally be a Breitling which was simply repainted? Will try and get better pictures. Thanks for your help. |

If I dial is reprinted, you can put any makers name on it. Get photos of the movement and the caseback, which might give more clues. |

Don’t think there’s anything there to say it’s a Breitling. |

Can I ask what makes you disagree? Thanks |

The watch is consistent to what I've seen in the past for the 1930's discounting the dial has been redone. The early Venus 150 would be right as is the serial number range but what tips it off for me is the double copper rings in the dial. You would see either single or double copper rings in a lot of examples from this era. When you get to these very early pieces for authentication it really gets down to your best guess and I'm guessing it's ok and just a redone dial. Note, the minute brake lever is missing from the movement. |
