Agreed. I still don't like have to work hard to make it right. Enough questionable elements to this piece for me.

The Breitling LTD has been added to the bridge and case. See this all the time on earlier unmarked pieces where the restorer adds too much information and thus ruins the piece. The dial looks completely original to me and I've had a few of them over the years. The double rings were period for that time and appear on many different brands and not something you see redone.

Okay, thank you all for the thorough assessment! Do you know if there’s any way to determine the case reference? I’m hoping it’s small size would make it pretty easy to identify in a catalogue.

Do you happen to have photos of other double ring dials? I've found a few online but none of them are identical to this one. I tried searching for the 789 case reference as well and all of those seemed to have more simple dials without the rings or the blue circles in the center.

Resurrecting an old thread. This Breitling remains in my collection and is currently with my watchmaker. Apparently the crown is damaged and needs to be replaced. Does anyone have insight into what the original would have looked like?

Not me, other than it would not have had a B logo on it. Any old steel crown of decent proportion should be fine.
