even if this watch was made by Breitling (and I see no signs or evidence of that) there's no way of knowing case makers made cases for multiple brands movement makers sold their movements to anyone dial printers printed for whomever wanted them hand makers has a large catalog to choose from its an unsubstantiated story told by the seller as far as I am concerned ? |

René, Maybe unsubstanciated story from your point of view, but I quote it from my side . I am 100% sure that some 769 and 734 branded SINGER were sold on turkish market until 1945 - 1950 , not sure of the limit date . Here are my reasons . I personally bought a very early Chronomat 769 SN484114, restoration project condition , on eBay in 2013 - seller was in Greece . It is triple marked SINGER , nowhere on it appears any Breitling brand ....despite it is clearly a Breitling production. I made my little inquiry , and it is a fact that since 1950( circa ) LG Breitling used the brand SINGER on the turkish market - or more precisely on the Ottoman Empire . It is just 7:30 am and my mind is not enough clear to remember the difference btw ottoman empire and actual Turkey , but it is linked to some events happened in Europe just before the mid of 20th century ![]() I spoke about that with a turkish native watch fellow here and he got similar informations about Singer - Breitling . I got similar informations from a turkish selller in Istanbul , and I have seen 2 or 3 ( different ) Singer 734 for sale on eBay . On the pics they are really similar to early version of the Breitling 734 - the military version shown in the Breitling EIGHT section of the 1942 catalog . |

I have seen, with my own eyes, a dual-branded 769 in stainless steel at watch shop in the Grand Bazaar in Istanbul. It was all correct (though overpriced and with a faded dial). |

Hi There everybody Thank you for all your reply's to my post have tried to find out more about singer/breitling relationship for watches for Turkish market as you have said, but limited information even on this forum if anyone can give me more links it would be appreciated, as I have bought this watch it was relisted watch from ebay from same seller at a much lower price, was put through as an auction lot so same watch, it is an nice watch works fine I am delighted with watch I am a collector of vintage watches always liked early chronographs especially the 3 dial ones. So didn't buy due to link with breitling but because it was a very nice vintage 3 dial chronograph with vintage venus movement not seen that often at this age and period. If it can be linked to breitling then its a bonus. So if there is anyone out there with any more information or links please let me know. Many thanks Patrick. |
