I am looking at buying my first vintage Breitling and have come across an item for sale from a "collector" close to me. I have done some research online and have found an original that appears to be almost exactly the same as the one I am looking at - I notice only one difference being the red second/chrono hand on the example I am looking at has a spade shape on the bottom of the hand, while the original is straight.

The dial is also without 3,6,9 markers in the minute counter - which I understand is not uncommon on the earlier versions.

The serial number is not on the outside of the case, but rather on the inside - and has the serial number as 491441 (which would date it to pre-1944).

Apologies for the belated "THANKS!" - but THANKS FRED. Did my research and the watch seemed to good to be true (you know the saying) - which also raises doubts. But if you are happy then I am.
