Hi there,

Reading for weeks and now ready to buy my first Breitling.
Already own a '69 Speedy and would like to add a 1806 Navitimer from that period.

What do you think of the watches listed below?
They are from the same period but the main difference (I guess) are the hands and subregisters:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/182294726844? ... EBIDX%3AIT

http://www.chrono24.co.uk/breitling/nav ... 960538.htm

Are they both 100% original?

Thank you!

Rob

both nice, both overpriced, doubt the origanlity of the main hands on both, as early cal11 1806 had "open" wide lume baton main hands ...

good to excellent 1806 can still be found well below €3k

Clearly the hour and minute hands on the eBay one are Pult hands .
For the Chrono24 one, hands are fully correct imho .

Phil, all early catalogs show "open" hands, switching to closed ones in 70/71

The chrono24 hands aren't open right?
And what about the hand Color difference on the left sub register?

The eBay watch has wrong hour and minute hands. Also, left sub dial hand should be black.

On the chrono24 watch, as the bezel is all black, I would expect to see 'open' lume black and white hour and minute hands. The chrono totalisers look correct.

E.g. (From Google)

With the advent of two tone bezel late '69 early '70 would expect to see all white 'closed' lume main hands as per own slightly tired example....

Anyone else?

So If I'm right the perfect 1806 for me would be:
- Year 1968/1969
- Caliber 11
- Black bezel
- Black date numbers
- Black left subregister hand and orange right
- Black/white open hands

Just like this picture:

Maybe I should post it in the WTB section.

I've compared numerous watches and learning a lot!
This is a 1970 816 navitimer, do you think the hands are replaced and the dial relumed?
It look's sharp:

Anyone an idea if the 816 is original? The pushers also look different to each other.
