Please help me verify this Premier Ref.777 as I think it the patina on the dial is looking absolutely stunning. The seller said it has been recently serviced, so I guess the pushers and crown are service replacements, but I am not sure about the hands in general - never seen them in this combination before.

It's unusual to see the 'tails' on the sub register hands and sweep second hand on a 777. I can't make out what the serial number is so can't make out if it's really an early piece. The case seems in much better condition than the dial.

David, the main hands look ok to me; agree w/ Paul the subdial tails might be off, but we are splitting hairs here I think ?
one of the better mid 40s examples even if the case might have had a little work done recently.

Hm, I really don't know if vintage Premiers were ever equipped with such subsecond/second hands with tails.
But nevertheless, this combination "feels" authentic in flesh; and since the vintage blue of the main hands perfectly matches the blue on the second hands I tend to doubt a replacement.
And if replaced, it must have happened before I was born to age that way.
Here's another shot of the dial, maybe it helps to clarify:

must withdraw my "correct", I'm afraid; seem from that better pic that it is a non-lume dial; lovely as it it, this would be utterly wrong; Breitling never combined lumed hands w/ non-lume dials.

Well thanks again for your participation! I managed to get a set of non-lume hands just for my gut feeling, as I will keep the lume-hands on it. They just look better :)

Cheers!
