Hi Folks -

Thanks so much for the wealth of information on this site. There are some great threads here.

I am captivated by the vintage Breitling Chronos. Much of the attraction is nostalgic, as my father was an aerospace engineer and my mother an interior designer. I love the aviation and draftsman aesthetic.

I've been looking for a vintage Navitimer or Chronomat and have found a few of interest. Would love to have the experts' thoughts on condition and integrity (i.e., fake, replacement parts, etc).

all Navitimer seem fine, the most expensive MIGHT be a very good relume.
Chronomat fine too.

and please dont be upset if you only get 1 (or maybe two) answers to your question , if no one else chimes in that means everyone agrees with the assessment that has been made

Thanks Fred and Dracha, very much appreciated! Gives me lots of confidence in these listings. I've seen many of your posts on this website, quite informative. I have probably read Fred's article and pictures on the Navitimers like 5 times.

I assume with these sporty Chronos with 50 years of age that I should expect to see some patina of age and wear on these pieces, yes? I recently bought a 1965 JLC Memovox that is beyond mint, no patina or wear, but it's more of a dress watch (someone loved it with great care). These Chronos I linked all have some wear and patina.

So I love the quirkiness of these vintage pieces. The JLC has a cricket alarm that is really cool, and some unique operational features. I was surprised to see that these Breitling Chronos are all manual and with acrylic crystals. Any other quirks (and yes, they tend to be endearing to me, personality so to speak)?
