Looks like a sloppy refinish. The photos are blurry but some of the lines look extra rounded and even touching the numbers in some spots.

Yeah. That's what I thought. The original red markers have been over painted in black perhaps.

just a sloppy replacement sliderule, nothing has been painted over here. these are for sale on ebay by dialfactory Uruguay (better) and theformerlyreliable Bill Shaine(ultrasloppy, but more expensive).

dial is a relume too.

Yes...dial equally as sloppy!
I understand the reason why photos are so poor!
