Another vintage Breitling I have my eye on. Can anyone help confirm the authenticity of this watch? Is the 'B' on the crown accurate for the time period?

crown is an incorrect replacement, a minor issue. but the incorrect hands are worse, these are off a mid 1950s piece, dial is in sad condition, strange to see the decimal scale in white, as these are normally red. Old refinish ?

Lugs show pitting - and I see no serial no. (caseback might be incorrect?).

not a watch I'd buy.

Thank you WatchFred for the insight. I'm very new to the Breitling game and don't have the eye for the details yet. I've come across a few watches now on eBay from the 1940's that don't seem to be authenticate. Is there a better place to search/purchase vintage Breitlings?

eBay is the biggest market, but for that very reason it is also full of fakes and franken pieces. Just ask here before committing And recognise that the nice original pieces will attract buyers and high prices.
