What is going to make you cry is that the seller had this piece listed a week ago for $2500. Somebody must have told him what he had.
Yes, they don't grow on trees. What makes this one more special is the chronometre movement which was an upgrade. Great piece.

A question, if the watch is dated about 1958, why does it have the twin plane logo on the back which I understand came much later? It's serial is 884705, non chrono.

it didn't come later, but appeared first on the TO and Superoceans 807 and 1004 in 1957, was then adopted for the Navitimers in 1963.

Hi, another question on my attempt to decipher more on this watch, I noticed the example in the thread viewtopic.php?f=11&t=50692 has a serial on the movement and a B125 movement. download/file.php?id=22137&mode=view



The one on Ebay doesn't have a serial on the movement but only on the inner caseback and a B126.

Should the serial be on the movement and inner caseback on these? Were both B125 and B126 movements seen on these and where were the serials inscribed considering both are Chronometre?

what is the reason & urgency of that query, San ?

afaik none of us are specializing in the 3-hand TO - there seems no doubt whatsoever that piece is authentic, but to say anything truly relevant someone would have to start researching these watches, amassing data over years, comparing dozens of pieces and then summarize the model line, similarities and discrepancies over the production years - wouldn't that be a nice project for you, we'll be happy to learn ?

Thanks Fred, was thinking of bidding on it, do you reckon is a good buy, true there is hardly any research on these and I doubt many of them survived to do detailed research on them.
Not sure why they had a B125 and B126 in the same year too. Must say it looks really good in the pictures but not so sure if it would in person and on the wrist. I can only bid on it to find out I guess. Is it the same size as the Datora 785?

These are the size of an Omega Seamaster of mid 50"s to give a good idea.
