This 769 is very nice . Apart the more than probably redone sliderule , we can notice the early SN - 491676 . Official factory figures start from 1944 with SN 563659 , and earliest Chronomat probably appeared in 1941 . This one was issued in 1942 or maybe early 1943 .
See the strange hand engravings , Wakmann Watch Swiss inside back + Wakmann Watch 17 jewels on chrono bridge / Swiss on mainplate. They have been made with a needle electric pen , an industrial tool which was existing but not so common at the period .
Icko Wakmann established in New York in 1943 , then founded Wakmann Watch of USA and became the Breitling distributor in the USA until the late 70s.
I speculate that this watch would be one from few pionier parts of the story !
