Get this book and read it, study it and use as a reference guide. Still bring your pieces in question here to the experts on the forum as there are many aspects not covered in the book but it will help greatly. I don't think there is one advanced collector on this forum who does not use this book as a continual guide. I have collected vintage Breitling for some time now and I admittedly still go to many of the senior experts here for help on pieces and have no shame in it. Shame is spending $2.5k on a fake that I could have asked someone a simple question or saw in this book it was incorrect.

I am waiting for an update Roff, it sure is overdue. I am voting on using Fred and Rene's collections for reference pieces.

It has never been updated in terms of content. The only difference between the various versions is the pricing data.

Well, that will always be hard to get correct as the market moves so much from year to year. But the ones quoted are laughable.

The question begged by this thread so far is whether there are significant content errors, other then with pricing.

The best part of the book to me that is correct are the old vintage ads and catalogs. Those are correct as can be. That is why I say REFERENCE GUIDE. This is not a BIBLE. You can refer to it to help you with many of the more common vintage Breitling we see. However, I also stated that you still need to bring your questions and questionable pieces here to be checked out. Some watches however are very easy to identify and the book is very good for that.
