Came across this watch, and just curious about authenticity. The band is obviously not correct. Looks like a Venus movement, but the dial printing doesn't look right to me based on others I have seen. I'm still learning about the vintage navitimers. So if it's real, any ideas on age?

Thanks for helping me learn.

Well, I was "that guy", and posted before taking advantage of all the cool info on this site first. Looks like the serial would put it 1967, but still unsure of the B on the dial.

Not the greatest photos and the watermark doesn't help, but looks right to me - even down to the red boxing that we would expect to see on the sliderule scales of the 67s.

+1

A service and a new plexi will make a world of difference

Yeah the photos blow. So a question, I thought the "B" would have been guilded, or was that only on the earlier Valjoux movement ones?

I haven't posted too often on the forum, but thanks a million times for the info on here. It's really a wealth of knowledge.

.

Applied AOPA wing is much earlier , if i remember correctly that stopped in 63 ? , after that theres a few with a gilded or silver wing in , if my memory srves me right, 64 ?

From then on its mostly the double wing

I have seen more dials like the one above, i am not sure where they fit or maybe they are an early service dials ? Or a breitling variation they you dont see often ?

Not sure if kurt mentiones one ?

Dracha, thanks for the link. I'm totally falling for vintage navitimers. I'm not quite in position to get one yet, but have been trying to learn what to look for when the time comes.

B on the dial doesn't seem right to me. The only time I've seen that configuration was with the early black sub register models.
