This is a piece from an estate here in San Diego. Original owner was a surgeon and WWII pilot. I just found this and it likely has been sitting for 30 years. It still keeps time but the chronograph functions do not work. It needs an overhaul and some love but will be a beauty after...

Any help with identification assistance appreciated. Sorry for the bad photos. I will work on getting better ones tomorrow.

neither 50s nor 60s, mid 70s or later.

one of the pieces that are not documented in catalogs or advertising, no serial number to date case production, afaik the only model of that period to include a Lemania 1873

We have seen at least a dozen of those, so either - my assumption - a mid 70s "desperation model", maybe Breitling had stock of the movements or somebody was ready to grant Willy Breitling a credit line to purchase these - or a post-Breitling production run by somebody who meticulously copied the Breitling dial and hands designs. Afraid we will never be able to prove which is correct.

Bare in mind that the ebay ad pricing is very optimistic and condition is everything.
