I have seen these pieces pop up lately
most of them with Breitling on the dial but here's a wakmann

are they both genuine or are the Breitling pieces fake ?

no, Renè, these are among the (I think) three watches that we have seen with both Breitling and Wakmann dials, though Bill will probably (and maybe rightly) doubt them, but I have seen to many not to assume these are among the "late years desperation" pieces; Breitlings are marked ref. 9122; Paul has/had several iirc.

edit reason: typos, of course.

I had one but sold it because I couldn't find a better dial. This one had the sub register scales delaminated and needed the hand relumed. Of course I have since seen the dials on ebay.

They date from the mid-1960s and were produced for quite a while and were intended to be the bottom end of the product line. They were mostly retailed through department stores, etc. The quality is such that I sometimes wonder if they were outsourced.
