http://uhrenshop.classic-watch-forum.de ... hronograph Is this a for real thing? I found a black dial version for a few bucks today. I don't see any markings that suggest Breitling so I'm confused. |

Given that the site owner for that link is a well known Breitling fraudster who has been banned from this site multiple times and still attempts to register, you should disbelieve everything that you read there. No Breitling connection at all. |

The reference to there being a Breitling connection was only found on his site, absolutely NOWHERE else on the web at all.Thanks for reminding me to shop the seller. A neat piece though, and if it runs offering $50 seem too much? |

The seller responded to my questioning it's Breitling association. He says it's clearly a Breitling Montbrillant manufactory caliber and that the dials were often marked with the name of the jeweler who sold it. Additionally was informed that the movements were not marked with Breitling until the 40's. Yes? |

Movements weren't marked until the 40s so we are supposed to believe that any unmarked movement is a Breitling? There is no connection between Huber and Breitling, period, end of story. |

The seller has a long history of dishonesty, although we can not rule out delusion. Herbert maintains that because G. Leon Breitling Montbrillant Watch Manufactury sold replacement parts for the Lemania and Landeron-Hahn movements it sold, all Lemania and Landeron Hahn movements are "Montbrillant." My experience is that all genuine Breitlings are marked as such, with some variation in placement and wording over time. In the 1940s, some non-chronograph wrist pieces were not marked on either the movement or the case. |

Thanks everyone for chiming in. I have the watch in front of me and I am still very interested in understanding it's backround. I understand the Huber Jewelers part and that explains the "branding" of the dial. Still uncertain what to make of the movement. Admittedly, to my eye anyway, it looks identical to the antique drawing of it's Montbrillant caliber but maybe other movements look identical?. Mine has a serial number near the balance wheel that reads 140550 M. Can anyone shed light on the Lemania and Landeron-Hahn relationship to Breitling and it's Montbrillant caliber? In a nutshell, what the heck is this movement? |
