Hi, long time reader first time entering the vintage world. Thoughts on this vintage breitling, is it real? It has venus 206 movement |

Not the greatest photos but I don't see anything obviously wrong with it. |

1. A 1956 serial number with a script "Breitling" dial. 2. A reference number that should be "239 95" and not "239 24." Just sayin' |

Excuse Bill if I disturb you. This watch is not from 1956, it from 1951, Breitling used (for whatever reason) for these watches the serial numbers of chronographs, not the serial numbers of 3-hand watches (non-chronographes), so the old script (Breitling) is absolutly correct on this watch. Also the reference number is ok, they exist with 239 95 and 239 24, I have seen 3 more in past with 239 24 |

it's not my watch. It's the first I've heard of a confusion of serial numbers, which seems implausible for the Breitling company and completely believable for the unfortunate alternative. You'll have to tell me what "24" stands for, since it is not otherwise documented. You seem loyal to your watch. Please tell us its history and how you it came to you. Where are these other mysterious "24"s? |

Where are these other mysterious "24"s? augstein isn't the OP,he's the one of the personas that I didn't ban previously because I thought he had left us. I have now corrected that oversight. I'll confess that I missed the 24 (there are 24 suffix pieces but they all have four digit first parts), although the quality of the stamping looks very good if it's not right. Better dial photo would certainly help. |

I know I have absolutely no say in the ban , and I have had more then 1 'disagreements' with the person, he even called me a thief and a liar .... but If he behaves , and approaches people in the best possible way, I don't mind it being able to post |

Once he was banned he insisted on registering multiple additional user accounts which is a clear additional breach of the rules and at this point I have no patience left for him. |

Hi, thanks for all the replies so far. I have made some HQ photos which I hope will help with identification of this watch. Thanks |

Hmmm. The thin caseback is problematic for me - you can see the stamping come through and that's 'un-Breitling' like. However, am I right in thinking that the aging on the dial is on top of the Breitling on the dial - looks like it on the tail of the 'e'? |

Agree with Roff! Add: No Breitling marking the back or inside, no signed movement... strange. Cal_11 |
