Hi all,

I'm fairly new to vintage watches and completely new to Breitling, but I've started to fall in love with the old Top Times.

Having a look around the internet I came across a couple that look interesting.

The first on ebay seems cheap but the photos are poor and the details are sketchy. Is there enough information here to draw any conclusions?

The second one has loads of information but its expensive and there doesn't seem to be a lot of information about the dealer on the various forums. Is it overpriced? Does it look OK?

Many thanks in advance!

Wouldn't touch the first one with those photos.

Not that keen on the second set of photos either - they are angled to not show too much and the caseback looks highly over polished. Crown also looks wrong on that.

actually think the 1st is probably ok, not so unrealistically priced - yes, pics are bad, but gut feeling tells me the watch is fine; not 44mm but around 39 iirc though.

2nd seller always writes novellas about the watches he lists, crown wrong as Roff say, very optimistically priced.

Fred/Roff, is the case back right on the 1st pic?

shape is fine, can not see the engraving well enough to judge if it is all correct.

I don't see anything obviously wrong with the caseback (or the dial for that matter), I'm just not going near it with those photos. Someone is less risk averse than me though because it sold. Hey, cut me some slack - I wrote a freaking book on risk management so have to practice what I preach!
