Hi, is this a documented Breitling? Can't recall seeing it in Richter, any clues? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BREITLING-SUP ... 35c43faa10 |

I would have to be convinced this is a Breitling. The 1930's seems to be an accurate timeframe for the watch based upon the case design and pushers. I think the movement is an early Landeron/Hahn variation although I haven't found an identical example. The hand design is not something you would normally expect to see on a Breitling from that period. Perhaps since the later watches for Kronometer Stockholm were Breitling's this had led to the conclusion this one is too. I'd be hesitant to drop a lot of money on it without knowing for sure. |

Hmm. Late 30s / early 40s for me, would expect a single pusher earlier in the decade. It's possible that it's a Breitling but at a time when watch production was being reduced in favour of aircraft timers is it likely that they would be producing 3rd party branded pieces - I'm not sure. As Paul and Fred note, would need to see more evidence of this being a Breitling, but as a Kronometer Stockholm of undetermined production it's a nice piece. |

no doubts a nice piece, Roff; but the...... let's call it "self-confident" creative licence Bill is using in his latest listings is slightly surprising. nothing here indicates this watch was produced by Breitling, we see no similar Breitling cases w/ Landeron movements, but Bill claims he has owned a "half dozen" such watches w/ Kronometer and Breitling branding - I do not recall ever seeing even one Breitling-signed Kronometer Stockholm Landeron ? |

Agreed. Bill's descriptions are becoming a little 'disappointing'. Breitling and Kronometer Stockholm clearly had a relationship (later), but never with a Landeron as far as I am concerned. |

Maybe time for an update here. I just picked up one of these Kronometer Stockholm chrono's. Still no real clue as to if these were manufactured by Breitling but evidently the Landeron 42 was used in some early Breitling's as Fred has an example of a reference 761 with the same movement and also with the KXF Swiss code. Might be more to this story than we initially expected. This one runs but a little fast so will be heading out for a full service, hand relume, and missing hand replacement. Nice piece otherwise. ![]() ![]() ![]() |
