hundreds of frankenfakes on the bay, but this is one of the worst recently:

serial number would date it to the late 1930s :wowzers , interesting.

The ref # all the way back to the 1930's would be a dead give away; that something was wrong. Such a modern watch with such an old reference number.

I'd give him $50 for the 7736 movement though, assuming its a real V7736. I have a watch project on the go that could use that one and I could see myself ripping the movement out and junking the rest. I don' think I would get a deal though. :)

This gentleman is a frequent poster on TZ. Most of the time he has pieces that are okay but this one is definitely not for sure. I may sense that he found out hence the end of auction?
