I don't think they ever made a tu-tone 806 though with the wrong hands and that dial looks a little suspect too.

Yeah, don't like it - outer sliderule added to the list of not quite right. I think that it's fundamentally sound, but restored by someone who didn't know anything about them.

Why is it that parts of the bezel look more like brass with tarnish from wear than 18k gold? I realize lower gold purities can tarnish but I've never seen 18K tarnish like that...does 18K tarnish to that level?!?

this sad specimen has been around for almost two years now, interesting only as I never saw another twotone 806 - if that bezel is really gold, it must come off an 18k 806. Dial looks like the Dialfactory attempts at getting it right - they did not.

I don't think it is 18k. It has tarnished in a fashion similar to how brass tarnishes and I searched online for information as to 18k's resistance to tarnishing and it sounds like it is very, very difficult for 18k to tarnish and that it is one of the primary reasons that 18k is so common on jewelry...and any time I have seen like 10k tarnish, it doesn't tarnish quite in that fashion/pattern. I don't know anywhere near as much about the models as you guys but I know a little about gold and this doesn't seem quite right. :?

Basically looks sound, but it is a bitster . Maybe someone intended to pimp his watch by swapping the steel bezel for a gold one . Good if you pay it low and have steel bezel and crown to go back to standard fitting . Hands too! But 1st , pay it low.
