You did indeed buy it for next to nothing. Here's what I told another member by PM when he asked me earlier in the week: "I've seen similar in pieces from early to mid 1930s so I think that it's fine. Not entirely convinced that the movement is quite so old however - I don't recall the Breitling wheel on pieces that old." The "similar" that I was referring to was the very early style logo on the dial. |

Thanks - So you think the parts are probably genuine even if they don't belong together? Is there anything I could usefully do with my bargain buy? ![]() M. |

Both of the vintage pieces I had redone for my wife a few years ago have Breitling stamped into the watch movement next to the 17 jewels. One has the Breitling logo on the gear wheel and the other doesn't. Both are from the 1940's and this one from 1947. |
