What did that watch start life as Fred?

Here's his limited edition explanation, where do they get these stories from?:)

Quote:
The Venus 195 calibre is a very rare movement that was never properly put into production. In the early 1980's when Ernest Schneider took over ownership of Breitling he found about 100 of the Venus 195's archived, he decided to use some of them in a selected run of about 50 limited edition watches in the style of the 1940's Datora's with slightly different case designs using references 1939 & 1940.

Looks like one of those Limited Edition recreations Breitling made to me. Should be pretty easy to confirm through Breitling since the limited editions were supposedly put together by Schneider from spare parts he acquired after he bought the company. It appears there were quite a few variations in case design and complications during the Limited Edition run.

True but I think this is just another stramge example. The movement, case and dial design are consistent with the Limited Editions. Before I spent €9k on it I'd write Breitling in Switzerland and confirm it though.
