Welcome to BreitlingSource, but I am afraid that you are going to need someone with better eyes than me - I can't see anything from those photos.

well. I see a little. looks basically alright to me, movement bridge seems to carry a logo engraving that does not fit the claimed 40s production date but we see many of these; case, dial, hands seem alright; maybe somebody with even better eyes can read the serial number, looks like 77xxx to me, which would make it a 1951 case, something I have not seen on a 769 ?

i have seen more detailed photos of inside of case as well as face. just having trouble attaching to forum post. basically, breitling stamp on movement bridge is in block capital letters instead of script. also, inside of back of case says "stainless steel," which i'm not sure ive seen before. if i can get thoe photos attached i will. what else would help me verify, other than serial number? anything else to look for?

thanks for the help!

Here's some better (hopefully) photos of inside of case and face...would appreciate any and all thoughts...particularly on unanswered questions and value (asking price ~$2800). Thanks again!

movement seems to be a replacement (wrong engraving, no "unadjusted", no import code), not sure this started life in a Breitling ?
dial aging is quite uneven, assume arabics are refinished.
pics of inner/outer caseback will help, but the price would be on the high end for a perfect piece.

Definitely not happy about the movement - doesn't look like the stamping is even either. Definitely better pieces out there, especially at the asking price.

Thanks for the feedback. This is very helpful, and exactly why I joined this forum...to learn to spot this stuff!
