Just got a catalog in today and found this watch listed (bottom left). I don't think I've ever seen AOPA wings on this model before. It appears to say 'Incabloc' under the wings. Seller didn't provide any pertinent information other than "1940's. Sub register hands look incorrect too. Price $1695. I don't believe AOPA had any connection with Breitling in the 1940's. I think the watch is probably 1950's if it's genuine at all but no reference numbers, serial numbers, or pic of the back in the catalog. Obviously the other Breitling in the pic has had a redial.

Weird, never seen anything like that before. What was the acution description (assuming it's an auction catalogue)?

Just that it's been restored and ready to wear. Worrisome because on the other Breitling pictured they give the ref number and serial number even thought the dial is a redo.

But it is specifically listed as a Breitling? Presumably that must be from the caseback / movement.

No. It's listed as "Rare Day-Date-Month-Square Button Chronograph." Maybe their not sure what it is either although the AOPA wings would be consistent with a Breitling or Wakmann from 1950's.

Talked to the seller today. It does say AOPA in the wings and on the back 785 586xxx which indicates 1945. Looking through a loupe he says it looks like the dials all original and nothing has been altered and these guys usually know their stuff. I know the AOPA started in 1939 but not sure when they decided to use their logo on any watches. Interesting piece.
